1st ever Winter Cup Int’l Wheelchair Cricket from Thursday
Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sports Association (NSCISA) is all set to host first ever Winter Cup International Wheelchair Cricket Tournament at Institute of Engineering Ground, Pulchowk, from February 18-19, 2015.
Organising a press conference here in Kathmandu on Monday, the association’s president Kishore Bahadur Shahi claimed that this will be the first ever international tournament of its kind in the world.
Nepal and Pakistan will participate in the two-day T10 (10 overs) Winter Cup. The teams will play three T10 – two matches on Thursday and last match on Friday.
A 14-member Nepali team is led by captain Himal Aryal. The team also includes women’s players – Hemkala Sunwar and Laxmi Ghimire.
Pakistani team is scheduled to arrive here on Wednesday. The Wheelchair cricket was also started from Pakistan, said the organiser.
Nepali team was on practice since last three weeks, said coach Ganga Prasad Poudel.
