APF, Baitadi enter semis of Women’s National Cricket

APF has entered semis berth as Group A winner and Baitadi as Group A runner-up. APF won all its four matches while runner-up Baitadi won two out of the played four matches.
With the conclusion of Group A matches, APF has accumulated 8 points, while Baitadi and Region-II (Birgunj) and Bhairahawa have 4 points each. However, Baitadi reached the semis on better run rate compared to Birgunj and Bhairahawa.
At the last day of the Group A match held at TU Ground, Kirtipur, APF defeated Baitadi by two wickets to secure fourth victory in a row.
Baitadi was all out for 91 runs at 35.5 overs. Kabita Kunwar scored 18 runs, while Dropati kunwar and Samjhana Khadka made 11 runs each.
Binu Budhamagar claimed two wickets while Ritu Kanojiya, Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar and Sarita Magar took a wicket each. Sita also won the Player-of-the-match.
In reply, APF chased the target at 26.2 overs losing eight wickets. Sita Rana Magar scored highest 38 runs off 51 deliveries and Jyoti Pandey 20 runs off 20 balls. However, none of the other batters could score double figures.
Rekha Rawal grabbed four wickets as Anjali Chand took three wickets for Baitadi.
At the match held at Institute of Engineering Ground, Pulchowk, Region-VII (Janakpur) thrashed Region-IX (Dhangadi) by 10 wickets to register third win in a row at the ongoing tournament.
Dhangadi was packed just for paltry 70 runs at 31 overs. Bimala Bhatt scored 15 runs and Kabita Joshi 12 runs.
Sarita Chaudhary claimed five wickets, while Santoshi Chaudhary and Shanti Chaudhary took two wickets each for winner.
Janakpur easily chased the target of 71 runs at 11.2 overs without the loss of a wicket. Openers Sobha Aale and Anuradha Chaudhary partnership of 56 runs and 15 extras was enough for Janapur to win the match.
Chaudhary scored 29 runs off 36 balls and Aale scored 27 runs off 33 deliveries.
Region-VII (Janakpur) will take on Region-V (Nepalgunj) at TU Ground, Kirtipur, while Region-I (Biratnagar) will face Region –III (Kathmandu) at Institute of Engineering Ground on Tuesday.
