VFS Global opens a new Italy Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu
The Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata, along with its outsourcing agency VFS Global, inaugurated the Italy Visa Application Centre at the Joint Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
With this centre, applicants will be facilitated in applying for Italy Schengen visas, which will allow them to travel to Italy and Europe, said Consulate General of Italy Kolkata in a statement.
Cesare Bieller, Consul General of Italy in Kolkata along with Atul Marwah, Head of Operations – North & East India, Nepal and Bangladesh, VFS Global, inaugurated the new Visa Application Centre amidst a function.
VFS Global started operations for the government of Italy in 2004 and now serves the client in 25 countries from 46 Visa Application Centres.
The Centre will accept applications for visas to Italy from applicants and travel agents residing in Nepal.
“All applications will continue to be assessed and processed by the Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata. The service would attract a nominal service fee, payable at the Centre at the time of submitting applications.”
Speaking on the occasion, Bieller stated, “Italy is expecting a significant increase of the visa applications in the upcoming months, also because Nepal will have a wonderful pavilion at Milan Expo 2015 which will take place from May 1st to October 31st 2015.”
Representing VFS Global, Atul Marwah said, “It is our privilege to welcome the services of the Consulate General of the Italian Republic in Kolkata with a VFS Global Italy Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu.
